GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As strong winds blew through West Michigan Monday, many trees were knocked down, including one that killed a man.
East of Cedar Springs, a 39-year-old Solon Township man died when a tree fell on him in the area of Crinnion Avenue near 16 Mile Road in Courtland Township, according to the Kent County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say he had been outside with friends and warned them to move out of the way when he was hit.
“Actions they believe likely prevented more of them from being struck,” deputies wrote in a release.
Near Hoffman Court and Locust Street in Kalamazoo, first responders pulled a man from a house after a tree fell on it, according to Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Chief David Boysen. He was taken to the hospital, the homeowner told News 8. Crews are working to stabilize the home…
