Internationally acclaimed glass artist makes return to Meijer Gardens with ‘deeply personal’ exhibition

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Internationally acclaimed artist Dale Chihuly has made his return to Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids for the first time in more than a decade.

“Chihuly at Meijer Gardens” opened on Saturday, May 2, and will run through Sunday, Nov. 1, giving West Michigan and beyond a chance to see Chihuly’s work at the gardens for the first time since 2010.

“We’re honored and thrilled to be back,” said Britt Cornett, the director of exhibitions for Chihuly Studio. “This is a very special place, and that became evident from the early 2000s when Dale first encountered Fred and Lena Meijer and developed a friendship that led to him returning in 2010, led to some permanent placements, and now, back in 2026, can’t believe it.”…
