West Michigan company produced Acrisure Amphitheater seating

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Fans are counting down the days until the first show at the Acrisure Amphitheater in Grand Rapids. Contractors are almost at the finish line of this year’s long construction. Local company Irwin. was behind the 7,000 seats.

News 8 was invited to tour its plant north of Walker.

The company has two facilities: a 400,000 square foot building in Michigan, the other in Illinois. The company produces seats for stadiums and theaters across the country. A big challenge with this project was a design that can tolerate all seasons at an outdoor amphitheater. There are many factors to consider.

“Between the curves of where you’re seating, your back, how the air comes through the backside. When you stand up how fast (the chair) can retract and be ready to clean,” Irwin. Marketing Representative Jack Powers said…
