Wild turkey’s eggs hatch in De Pere family’s yard

DE PERE, Wis (WFRV) — A wild turkey named Stella has officially hatched her eggs after nesting in a De Pere woman’s window well.

Stella the turkey was spotted in the resident’s yard with several poults following behind her. Poults is the term for baby turkeys.

In a nearly fifteen-minute video obtained by WFRV, Stella can be seen rummaging around the yard, poking at a tree, attempting to cross the street, and, after being shooed back into the yard by the homeowner, settling in a patch of bushes.

It was a little over a month ago that WFRV first reported on the story. Stella had been nesting, and her poults weren’t hatched yet…
