4 Fox Valley businesses opened or announced closure in April | The Buzz

Through all the April showers, and with greener pastures returning to the Fox Valley, business news may have slowed but it certainly hasn’t stopped. From openings to closures, we’ve put together a list to recap these recent updates.

2 businesses open in the Appleton area

Bowlicious Eats, 1804 S. Lawe St. in Appleton, opened on April 3 inside Long Chen Marketplace. The location is the food truck brand’s first physical location, serving up dishes like loaded chicken teriyaki, smoked ribs, beef pho and chicken curry.

Great American Cookies, 4186 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Grand Chute, opened April 9. The dessert chain, known for its cookie cakes and other sweet goods, formerly has a location in the Fox River Mall which closed in February 2025.

Sherwood restaurant forced to temporarily close

Heritage 71, 580 Robinhood Drive in Sherwood, temporarily closed on April 20 after suffering a fire. The restaurant, known for its slow-smoked barbeque, will remained closed till the damage can be assessed and repaired.

Longtime Appleton boutique to close

Aunt Esther’s Attic Boutique, 2191 W. Spencer St. in Appleton, is permanently closing June 30 due to owner Colleen Flanagan’s retirement. The shop is known for its wide variety of styles, and includes items like scarfs, hats, apparel, jewelry and repurposed pieces.

What’s to come? Keep an eye out for these 9 businesses

Sweet Brunch, 1104 Mutual Way in Grand Chute, is expected to open in late May. The restaurant will serve classic American breakfast and lunch options and will operate from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Theisen’s Home, Farm and Auto, 999 Winneconne Ave. in Neenah, will open in the former Krueger’s True Value this spring. The retailer sells products for home, farm, auto, pets and outdoor living…
