WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man is being held without bond after police linked him to a string of business break-ins and a gas station robbery spanning nearly three months, authorities said.
James Wesley Rawls, 53, was arrested May 27 with assistance from the Winston-Salem Police Department’s SWAT Team. He faces five counts of felony breaking and entering, four counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, one count of felony common law robbery and one count of misdemeanor injury to personal property.
The arrest came after detectives with the WSPD Major Crimes Unit, working alongside the Patrol Division and the Real Time Crime Center, identified Rawls as the suspect in a May 26 robbery at the BP gas station at 105 N.
