ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — Melissa Enoch believes a cemetery is like a forest.
Each headstone stands tall and resolute like the mighty oaks and pines that surround it. The roots extend deep into the soil. Just like the forests that surround us, what starts with a few trees grows larger and larger.

“You grow your families, and you’re connected by way of the area. You have multiple trees all in the same forest,” said Enoch, the self-appointed historian of Snow Hill Cemetery.
And grown it has. The first person was buried in the area in 1820. The property has grown to include mothers, brothers, cousins and friends. It was purchased formally in 1929…
