Piedmont Triad could see thunderstorms Wednesday

(WGHP) — Muggy and very warm temperatures will continue over the next few days, as well as a chance for afternoon thunderstorms.

Tonight, showers and thunderstorms will move out of the Piedmont by late evening, leading to mostly cloudy to partly cloudy skies overnight. Low temperatures will drop to 72 by Wednesday morning, with filtered sunlight becoming plentiful by mid-morning.

Afternoon highs will once again climb into the low to middle 90s for Wednesday afternoon. Scattered showers are possible with plenty of moisture in the atmosphere. Most of North Carolina is under a level one, marginal risk of severe weather. Coverage of storms should be less than we saw on Tuesday with damaging winds our primary consent from any strong storms…
