Cool start to the day on Monday in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — It’s a great day to head back to school! The humidity remains low, so morning temperatures at the bus stop will be cool, in the lower- to mid-60s. We have abundant sunshine ahead for the day and will return to the mid-80s for high temperatures.

Skies remain mostly clear overnight with lows in the lower-60s.

Sunny skies return to the Piedmont on Tuesday as high pressure continues to dominate the Mid-Atlantic. High temperatures stay steady, in the mid-80s.

Scattered clouds move in midweek, and we will eventually have increased chances of rain in the forecast as a cold front sweeps across the Carolinas. For Wednesday, there is only a 20% chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm with highs near 87 degrees. By Thursday, however, the chance jumps to 40%, then increases to 50% on Friday. High temperatures will hover in the mid-80s for the end of the work week.

The weekend is a mixed bag with scattered showers and thunderstorms on Saturday and a high of 85 degrees. Sunday looks great for outdoor plans – early in the day – as partly cloudy skies take over and highs reach the upper-80s…
