MEBANE, N.C. (WGHP) — Ten months after losing her apartment to a fire, a Mebane woman says she felt that loss all over again when the building was demolished.
Jamey Heuser said she had hoped to be allowed back in to recover personal items, but it never happened. The building was condemned and deemed unsafe for entry after the fire, but Heuser says that doesn’t make the loss hurt any less.

‘Heartbreaking’
“It’s just heartbreaking to go through something like this, not just for my family but for all the other families as well,” Heuser said.
