RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Randolph County Schools Superintendent Dr. Stephen Gainey has been named the 2026–2027 Regional Superintendent of the Year for the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium.
Gainey will now advance as a finalist for the A. Craig Phillips State Superintendent of the Year Award, joining seven other regional winners from across North Carolina.
Each year, superintendents within the Piedmont Triad Education Consortium select one of 18 peers to represent the region based on outstanding leadership. That honoree then moves forward in the statewide selection process…
