All remaining charges against Bryan Castillo dismissed in crash that killed Forsyth County deputy

FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — The remaining charges against Bryan Castillo in a crash that killed Forsyth County Deputy Kaleb Mitchell have been dropped, according to court records.

Castillo, 19, was initially charged with second-degree murder, misdemeanor death by vehicle, reckless driving, speeding and driving left of center on March 9.

On Monday, Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O’Neill revealed that new evidence presented by North Carolina State Highway Patrol indicated that there was no probable cause to believe that Castillo should be prosecuted for second-degree murder, misdemeanor death by vehicle or driving left of center, and those charges were dismissed.

Now, court documents filed Wednesday show that all charges, including the charges of speeding and driving left of center, were dismissed…
