A man and woman were arrested Saturday after police say a fight and gunfire outside a Burlington funeral home led to a high-speed chase and crash.
Officers responded shortly after 2 p.m. to Rich and Thompson Funeral Home after a 911 caller reported a fight following the funeral of a 2-year-old child. During the altercation, police said 24-year-old Trevonte Jaquan McGhee went outside and fired several rounds from an assault rifle.
Witnesses told dispatchers that McGhee got into a car and drove off. Officers quickly located the car and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver, identified as 24-year-old Cazari Monique Russell, sped away. During the pursuit, police said McGhee threw the rifle from the vehicle…
