PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — For the first time in nearly 3 weeks, radar is nice and colorful as rain showers move across the Piedmont Triad. Scattered showers, some light and some heavy, continue throughout our Saturday evening. The occasional rumble of thunder can’t be ruled out either. Although rainfall totals are likely to remain below 0.5″ for the majority of us, this will be our first measurable rainfall since early April. If you have Saturday evening plans, be sure to take the rain gear with you just in case. Lingering showers are possible until late Saturday night.
A couple of stray showers can’t be entirely ruled out Sunday morning; however, the majority of us will be dry and cloudy when the sun comes up. Temperatures start in the upper 50s and skies remain mostly cloudy for the first half of the day. We’ll start to see gradual clearing into the afternoon with mostly sunny skies by Sunday evening. Afternoon highs reach the low 70s.
A cooler pattern takes over as we head into the next week and we’ll have a few more days with rain chances. Monday will be dry with mostly sunny skies. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 40s and afternoon highs reach the low 70s…
