Greensboro City Council approves annexing 100+ acres for development of roughly 900 homes near Old Randleman Road

GREENSBORO, N.C. — On Tuesday evening, the Greensboro City Council unanimously approved annexing more than 100 acres off Old Randleman Road to accommodate a residential development that could bring about 900 housing units to the area.

The council voted to extend city limits to include properties at 5101, 5113 and 5327 Old Randleman Road, north of Benedict Road. According to a presentation at the meeting, the developer hopes to complete design and permitting this year before beginning construction in 2027.

The property is located in a designated growth area and will gain access to city utilities, including water and sewer service, through the annexation. City staff previously reported fire, police and solid waste services could be provided with no immediate impact to response capabilities…
