SCDOT seeks public input on safety upgrades to Anderson County highway

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Officials are asking for public input on proposed safety upgrades along a stretch of highway in Anderson County as the “100 Deadly Days of Summer” get underway.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is considering changes along a 4.3-mile section of Highway 28 aimed at reducing severe wrecks.

“The reason why we’re out here really is to focus on reducing fatal and serious injury crashes,” said SCDOT Traffic Safety Engineer Eugene Taylor. He noted there have been serious crashes along the corridor in recent years, adding, “One fatal crash is one too many.”
