Simpsonville Council divided over $69K impact fee study

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – A divided Simpsonville City Council has approved funding for a study that could pave the way for new impact fees on future development.

In a 4–3 vote, council members agreed to spend $69,000 on a study and capital improvement plan to examine whether impact fees could help the city manage rapid growth. The decision comes as Simpsonville continues to see increased demand on roads, utilities, and public services.
