Harrisburg man snuck onto Amtrak trains, tampered with controls: police

A Harrisburg man was charged with felony trespassing after he boarded two Amtrak trains in the city last month and tampered with controls, court documents show.

Amtrak police said Russell Kauffman, 35, was seen on surveillance cameras around 12:30 a.m. on May 26 rolling under a sliding gate at the Fourth and Chestnut Street station that was accessible only with a key card.

He then walked across a restricted parking lot and got onto a train at about 12:45 a.m., according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by police…
