The Derry Township Police Department announced the death of its police dog, Ares.
K-9 Ares died on June 16 after falling ill, the department posted on CrimeWatch a day later. The dog was months from retirement, the department said.
Ares began his career with the department in 2019 and worked with handler Lt. Anthony Clements. The police dog served not just the Hershey area, but assisted other police departments in the region.
