Centre Twp. officials said Sept. 1 they have received unofficial word that the developer behind a proposed data center has withdrawn interest in the township, offering residents and supervisors a reprieve after months of concern over the project.
Chairman Colin Reynolds said the township had heard “unofficially and semi-unofficially” that the developer was no longer pursuing the project and that letters of intent with property owners had been withdrawn. Reynolds cautioned, however, that the township has not received direct confirmation from the company.
“We were never directly in contact with WHP other than that phone call asking for an informal introduction that we declined, so we’ve never spoken to them directly,” Reynolds said…
