HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Department of Education announced Wednesday that 14 community colleges in the state would be receiving $25.4 million in grants, including Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).
HACC was awarded two grants. One totaling $625,000 will help replace two cooling towers at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center. The other will support replacements for a cooling tower and heat pumps at the Public Safety Training Center.

The grants are intended to help “support facility improvements and upgrades to improve campus life for learners,” allowing the colleges to “invest in new facilities to serve emerging or current growth populations and/or to meet high-priority workforce needs, major repairs and critical deferred maintenance, renovations to and replacement of existing aging facilities and ADA compliance projects.”
