Woman allegedly high on drugs drives with young child

Buffalo Township, Pa. — A 48-year-old Mifflinburg woman was under the influence of a controlled substance when she drove to a grocery store in Buffalo Township with a child in tow, police say.

Joan Francis Farrell was pulled over by state police on Sept. 8 on Old Turnpike Road in response to multiple reports of an erratic driver turning into Wenger’s Grocery Outlet.

Trooper Owen Sabol of PSP Milton responded and saw Farrell in her vehicle attempting to leave the store parking lot. Farrell allegedly stopped well past the stop sign and was partially in the eastbound lane of travel of Old Turnpike Road, causing another driver to slam their brakes, according to the affidavit…
