Free microchip clinic aims to reunite lost pets with owners in York County

YORK COUNTY, Pa. — A local organization partnered with a career institute in York to offer free microchipping for cats and dogs, aiming to help more lost pets find their way home.

The clinic was hosted at YTI Career Institute in partnership with Find Toby in PA, providing free microchips while also giving students hands-on experience. Organizers said the process is quick and safe, and significantly improves the chances of identifying lost pets and contacting their owners through veterinarians or law enforcement.

“It’s very fulfilling — I mean that’s why I think we’re all here and that’s why I’ve been here for 10 years,” said Kelly Schlieder with Find Toby. “To know when someone finds a lost pet we have taught a lot of people in this area it doesn’t need a home, it might have a home, and to start there.”…
