YORK, Pa. — A York woman has been charged with a misdemeanor count of cruelty to animals after police say she threw a cat into the trash following an argument with the cat’s owner earlier this month.
Luzmilda Caba Colon, 54, told police she thought the cat was dead. She claimed she threw it in the trash without telling its owner because she did not want to “stress him out” due to his health problems.
The cat’s owner told police he noticed his cat, Loopy, was missing when he returned from an Easter visit to his family at about 7 p.m. on April 5. He spent the night looking around the house for the animal, and went to bed believing the cat may have been hiding somewhere…
