DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — As we continue to highlight the nation’s birthday, we’re telling the story of a local trailblazer: a Black woman from a small Pennsylvania town who worked her way up the ranks to captain in the Air Force during the Vietnam War.
“I liked the Air Force. I liked the planes flying and the kinds of work they did,” Waenetta Morton, 89, said.
