Woman escapes alleged kidnapping by running into traffic, Dauphin County man charged

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A man faces numerous charges after a woman escaped an alleged kidnapping when she ran into traffic in Dauphin County last week, according to court documents filed by Pennsylvania State Police.

Felony charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault were filed against 33-year-old James Kramer III, of Halifax, according to court records. Misdemeanor charges of simple assault, terroristic threats, unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury and accidents involving damage to attended vehicle were also filed against him.

Kramer allegedly forced his girlfriend into a vehicle outside his residence along S. 4th Street in Halifax Borough around 2 p.m., State Police at Lykens said in charging documents. He allegedly punched her in the back of the head, giving her a laceration several inches long.
