‘Ensure the stories of those who served are never forgotten’ | Lebanon County’s newest veterans’ memorial

MYERSTOWN, Pa. — The mood at Eastern Lebanon County (ELCO) High School matched the weather: somber. That somber feel came as students, veterans and the community gathered for the dedication of a brand-new veterans’ memorial on the school’s campus on Thursday, May 21.

“This site honors the sacrifices that are made by all men and women who wear the uniform, as well as their families,” said Braden Edris, an ELCO senior who is entering the Air National Guard after graduation.

Among the veterans being recognized are Corporal Eric Ream and Private Earl Althouse. Both served in the Army and were killed in action during the Vietnam War…
