Summer House Stars Cousin Charged in Grandmothers Shocking Death

Additional Coverage:

Missouri authorities have arrested Dakota Sweeney, cousin of “Summer House” cast member West Wilson, in connection with the fatal shooting of their grandmother, Gayle Wilson.

Gayle Wilson, 75, was found dead from a gunshot wound inside her Carrollton, Missouri home last Wednesday. According to an affidavit from the Missouri Highway Patrol, Sweeney, who lived with Gayle Wilson, was taken into custody on suspicion of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Investigators say a witness reported that an argument erupted between Sweeney and Gayle Wilson over household chores. The two had been sitting on separate couches in the same room for about 30 minutes before Sweeney allegedly shot Wilson in the head without warning.

The shooting occurred just one day before the filming of the highly anticipated “Summer House” reunion, which features West Wilson and is expected to highlight the ongoing “Scamanda” controversy involving her.

Family connections reveal that Wilson’s father and Sweeney’s mother are both stepchildren of Gayle Wilson. The late grandmother was known for her work as a blackjack dealer and her hobbies, including sewing and creating stained glass art, according to Lindley Funeral Homes.

Bravo, which manages publicity for West Wilson, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. It remains unclear whether Sweeney has secured legal representation.
