Karoline Leavitt Welcomes Baby Girl with Luxurious All-Pink Nursery Reveal

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the birth of her second child, a baby girl named Viviana, on Thursday.

Leavitt, 28, and her husband Nicholas Riccio, a 60-year-old real estate developer, welcomed Viviana on May 1. Sharing the joyful news on social media, Leavitt posted a photo of herself cradling her newborn in a nursery decorated entirely in pink. The room features luxurious touches such as a Hermes blanket, a special baby Bible, and a collection of Washington, D.C.-themed books.

“On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt wrote on Instagram. “She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister.”

Leavitt added, “We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble. Thank you to everyone who reached out with prayers during my pregnancy-I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is good.”

The couple already has a nearly two-year-old son named Niko. They revealed the pregnancy last December with a festive photo of Leavitt showing her baby bump in front of a Christmas tree.

“The greatest Christmas gift we could ever ask for-a baby girl coming in May 2026,” she shared at the time. “My husband and I are thrilled to grow our family and can’t wait to watch our son become a big brother.”

Leavitt’s nursery reflects her affection for all things pink, continuing the theme from her March baby shower held at Trump’s northern Virginia golf club. The room includes pink ruffled curtains, floral bedding, pink bookshelves, and a standout Hermes Avalon Cabriole blanket in pink plaid. This luxury blanket, made of 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere, is valued at over $1,300.

Among the nursery’s charming details are a blue bunny sculpture, a plush pink doll, and a pink-framed photo that appears to be of Leavitt and her husband. Viviana’s early books include “Her First Bible” by Melody Carlson, “Handbags A to Z” by Little Fancy Books, and the “Washington DC, ABC” book from Mr. Boddington’s Studio.

Regarding Leavitt’s duties during maternity leave, she stepped away from her press secretary role on April 24 but held one final briefing on April 27, following the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting incident. While the exact length of her leave remains unclear, Leavitt is expected to return to her position afterward.

In her absence, Cabinet officials-including Vice President J.D. Vance and President Donald Trump-will handle press briefings, as no formal replacement has been appointed.
