Traffic gridlocked along Interstate 15 on the California-Nevada border Monday as Memorial Day weekend travelers headed home from Las Vegas.
The 18 or so miles from Primm, Nev. to Mountain Pass, Calif. was clocking in at about 1 hour and 20 minutes shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. Traffic cameras showed vehicles crawling along the southbound lanes while drivers in the parallel northbound lanes zipped by. For comparison, the northbound route on I-15 between Mountain Pass and Primm was taking drivers just 15 minutes at the same time of day.
The stretch along the California-Nevada border often jams up during holiday weekends, as the artery is the only direct route between Las Vegas and Southern California…
