Juneteenth celebrations across Las Vegas valley this weekend

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Las Vegas valley is coming together to celebrate Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and celebrating freedom and resilience across the nation.

The federal holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, when enslaved people in Texas learned of their emancipation more than two years after the end of the Civil War.
