Henderson New-Home Permits Down 27% Through May — Apartments Absent

Henderson’s pipeline of new homes is shrinking fast — and for anyone watching the local housing market, the numbers are hard to ignore.

According to the city’s building permit report for the year through May 2026, Henderson issued 1,090 single-family home permits — down from 1,505 over the same stretch last year, a drop of nearly 28%. The dollar value tells the same story: $141.2 million in single-family construction valuation this year versus $193.5 million at this point in 2025.
