LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Nevada lawmaker plans to introduce legislation requiring firearm surrender under temporary and extended domestic violence protection orders, but the proposal is already drawing opposition from a statewide gun rights organization.
Assemblyman David Orentlicher, D-Las Vegas, an attorney and professor at UNLV’s William S. Boyd School of Law, said current Nevada law does not go far enough when it comes to protecting victims of domestic violence.
