LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Mexican man with two deportations on his record will serve two years in prison before he is deported a third time, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Ismael Bernal Olguin was sentenced Monday by U.S. District Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey. On March 9, he was arrested by Nevada Highway Patrol troopers on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and making a false statement to obstruct a public officer.
Olguin was previously deported to Mexico in December 2018 and March 2022, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He has prior felony convictions for attempted possession of a stolen vehicle, attempted battery resulting in substantial bodily harm, and deported alien found unlawfully in the United States.
