Netflix documentary ‘The Widower’ highlights Las Vegas murderer’s deadly marriages

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Netflix documentary called “The Widower” that was released Wednesday details the investigation that led Las Vegas police detectives in Las Vegas to scrutinize the several deadly marriages of convicted murderer Thomas Randolph. The 91-minute film features years of investigating and reporting by 8 News Now journalists.

A Clark County jury convicted Thomas Randolph, 71, of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of murder with the use of a deadly weapon, according to court filings. In April 2024, District Judge Tierra Jones, now the county’s chief judge, sentenced Randolph to a prison term of 60 years to life.

This was actually the second time Randolph was convicted on these same charges related to shooting the man he hired to stage a robbery and kill his wife, Sharon Clausse. In 2017, the Nevada Supreme Court ordered a retrial, saying the original judge should not have let the jury hear about a similar 1986 plot to kill his second wife, Becky Gault, in Utah.
