NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (KLAS) — The widow of a Las Vegas-area pastor has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the woman charged with his murder, which was prompted by complaints to their homeowners’ association, according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators reviewed.

Joe Junio, 36, faces charges of open murder with a deadly weapon, attempted murder with a deadly weapon, two charges of child abuse involving a deadly weapon, and discharging of a firearm where a person might be endangered for the Dec. 29, 2023, killing of 46-year-old Nick Davi.

In addition to Junio, the lawsuit lists the person who owned the firearm used to shoot the couple as a party, though the exact owner of the weapon was unknown at the time of the lawsuit’s filing.

Davi was a pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas. He moved to North Las Vegas in 2005 after leaving the South after Hurricane Katrina, the lawsuit said.

Sarah Davi, his wife, was wounded in the shooting, the lawsuit said.

Nick Davi and Sarah Davi’s 15-year-old and 12-year-old children were also at the scene and recorded the shooting on their phones, according to police. A still image of that video was included in the wrongful death lawsuit.
