Henderson woman pretended to be hotel employee to scam family out of nearly $20K while faking cancer

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Henderson woman pleaded guilty to a charge of theft after she pretended to be a hotel employee and scammed a family out of nearly $20,000 while faking a cancer diagnosis, according to documents 8 News Now obtained.

On Jan. 17, 2025, the Henderson Police Department received a call from a woman who said her “longtime family friend,” Haleigh Knight, scammed her and her family out of around $20,000 dating back to June 2023, according to an arrest warrant.

The victim told police that Knight was pretending to be an employee for the Four Seasons Hotel, specifically as a content creator and a trip advisor. She said that from June 2023 to January 2025, the victim believed she was working as a part-time employee of the hotel as a content creator, the warrant said.

The victim’s sister was also given a fake contract to be a content creator with Four Seasons and quit her job in Utah as a teacher to move to Henderson with the victim because of the opportunity, the warrant said…
