Nevada Department of Corrections to shut down 2 conservation camps citing costs

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The Nevada Department of Corrections announced plans to close two minimum-custody institutions known as conservation camps.

Carlin Conservation Camp (CCC) in Carlin and Jean Conservation Camp (JCC) in Jeanwill cease operations by July 1, according to NDOC.

All offenders housed at the camps will be relocated to other correctional facilitiesbefore June 30. NDOC staff will continue to patrol the camps until all equipment, computers, furniture, and supplies are completely removed…
