Henderson reports 2025 sustainability gains in transit access, water savings and solar gro

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — As Earth Month continues in April, the City of Henderson is highlighting what it calls progress toward a more sustainable and resilient future in an arid region where extreme heat, drought, and air quality are ongoing concerns.

The city said its sustainability efforts are focused on protecting the environment, saving water, and making streets safer. It pointed to several accomplishments from 2025 across transportation, water conservation, clean energy, and community programs.

On transportation, the city reported that 92% of neighborhoods are within walking distance of a sidewalk, 85% are within walking distance of a park, and 82% are within walking distance of a bike lane.
