Nevada’s first Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce opens in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A ceremony was held Saturday for the opening of the first Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce in the state of Nevada.

Organizers said the launch will help build long-term partnerships that support inclusive economic growth and community leadership.

“It’s a monumental event and it’s always history-making for us to be able to have our voice here in Las Vegas,” said Virginia Toalepai, president of the Nevada Pacific Islander Chamber of Commerce. “And it’s created and it’s for advocating for our people, businesses, small businesses, and then also having a voice in the bills and legislation that’s happening and passed out that affect all of us. Not only businesses, but the individuals.”…
