Sticks Tavern Brings Local Bar Energy to Water Street

Last Sunday, after picking up a few items at the Lake Las Vegas Farmers Market, we decided to keep the day going with a stop on Water Street. The last few times we made our way through this part of Henderson, we had such good experiences at Johnny Mac’s, Biscuits & Bourbon, and even a sweet boba tea stop at No. 1 Boba, that it only felt right to keep exploring.

Water Street has been growing into one of those local areas where every visit feels like there is another place worth trying. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops, casual bites, and neighborhood hangouts keep popping up, and for us, that is exactly the kind of area that makes a Sunday ride feel complete.

This time, we found ourselves at Sticks Tavern, a local sports bar that presents itself simply and proudly: all sports, all locals. Funny enough, I did not immediately connect the name to a hockey-themed sports bar. I am not the biggest hockey fan, but a bar is a bar, and whatever the theme may be, we are usually looking for the same thing: good people, good food, and another good experience along the ride.

As we walked into Sticks Tavern, we were greeted by our bartender, who immediately made the place feel welcoming. She was smiley, lively, and genuinely seemed like the kind of person who wanted you to feel like you belonged there, even if it was your first time walking through the door…
