A bare-knuckle fighter already known to Miami-Dade law enforcement for a dramatic high-rise escape attempt is back behind bars, accused this time of burglarizing a West Miami-Dade home and making off with roughly $103,600 in luxury handbags, jewelry and two firearms. Peter Alexander Peraza was arrested Thursday after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detectives executed a search warrant at his residence, according to the arrest report.
The burglary itself happened back on June 27, when detectives say Peraza broke into the West Miami-Dade home and stole several luxury handbags, jewelry, and a Glock .45-caliber handgun and a Taurus 9mm handgun, according to WSVN 7News. Police estimated the total value of the stolen property at about $103,600. Surveillance video captured the burglary, and detectives said the footage showed identifiable clothing and characteristics that helped tie Peraza to the scene.
Investigators built their case before seeking the search warrant executed at his home Thursday by the MDSO Special Response Team. During that search, detectives recovered luxury bags taken during the burglary, one of the stolen firearms, and clothing matching what was worn during the break-in, per the same report.
Drugs, Firearms and Property Damage Uncovered
The search of Peraza’s residence didn’t stop at recovering stolen goods. Detectives said they found suspected cannabis and THC cartridges, along with about 635 grams of suspected cannabis, four grams of suspected psilocybin, and five pounds of suspected THC wax, per the arrest report.
