Las Vegas police identify men arrested after running onto Allegiant Stadium field during Super Bowl LVIII

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – Two men face charges after running onto the field at Allegiant Stadium during Super Bowl LVIII, police said.

Alex Gonzalez, and Sebastian Rivera from Miami, Florida face prohibited conduct at an athletic event, according to a Las Vegas Metropolitan police arrest report.

It happened shortly after 6:15 p.m. on Sunday when officers were told that Gonzalez and Rivera had jumped over the security barrier in the stands of the stadium’s southwest corner and onto the playing field while the game was in play, the report said.

Gonzalez and Rivera were both apprehended by a security team on the field and turned over to police who escorted them off the field and arrested them, according to the report.

Both men were then taken to the Clark County Detention Center. According to a previous report on Sunday, both men were released without having to post bail and are due in court in April.

The men were never shown on the broadcast, and the incident did not appear to hold the game up for long. Moments later, Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker nailed a 57-yard field goal, eclipsing the record for longest field goal ever in a Super Bowl, set earlier in the game by San Francisco 49ers rookie kicker Jake Moody.
