MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A Martin County man and two of his stepchildren were injured Saturday when their family helicopter tour crashed during takeoff at North Perry Airport in Pembroke Pines, according to reporting from our news partners at the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
Francisco Diaz Pascual, 39, of Martin County, and two of his stepchildren, both minors, were passengers aboard a Robinson R44 helicopter that was attempting to take off around 11:20 a.m. when it rolled over and struck a parked Cessna 340, the National Transportation Safety Board previously told the Sun Sentinel.
Diaz Pascual told the Sun Sentinel that he and his wife had planned the helicopter tour over Miami to celebrate their anniversary.
