‘Hopefully he recovers’: Neighbors praying for man critically injured after cargo plane hit his car

HIALEAH, Fla. — Seventy-nine-year-old Eugenio Corredor was born in Colombia and lives in the Vernon Ashley Plaza housing community in Hialeah.

On Sunday, as he drove down Northwest 67th Avenue in his green Toyota Corolla Cross SUV, he was struck by a Boeing 767 cargo plane that careened off the runway at Miami International Airport.

First responders freed him from his mangled car and rushed him to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Tuesday…
