A 31-year-old Broward County woman was arrested outside Martin Correctional Institution after guards spotted her on prison grounds with a massive stash of contraband.
Deputies from the Martin County Sheriff’s Office showed up after prison staff called in a suspicious person outside the fence. They tracked down Makia Lashay Shivers and found her carrying bags packed with illegal goods meant for inmates inside.
Inside the bags, deputies found 464 grams of methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana (K2), THC, 37 cell phones, phone chargers, packs of cigarettes, bottles of liquor, and several pairs of shoes…
