OPA-LOCKA, FLA. — A disagreement over a food order at an Opa-locka eatery escalated into a felony gun case this week, after police say a customer left the argument, retrieved a firearm from his home, and returned to threaten the worker who had been preparing his food.
According to the Opa-locka Police arrest report, the confrontation unfolded Wednesday afternoon while 40-year-old Ronathan Laston was waiting on his order at the counter. Investigators say Laston kept changing what he wanted, and the back-and-forth with the employee preparing the food eventually turned into a heated argument — the kind of counter dispute that plays out at food businesses all the time.
