HONOLULU (KHON2) — The City and County of Honolulu is welcoming applications for dozens of open bus driver positions. Closing this employment gap could make a significant difference in preventing delayed or cancelled routes.
“There is an acute driver shortage. Currently we’re short about 88 drivers out of 1,000—that’s 8% to 9% of our driver spots that we need to fill,” said Department of Transportation Services (DTS) Director Roger Morton. “Our job is to just recruit as many people as we can and train them.”
