HPD officer collides with pedestrian in Waikiki crosswalk, treated for serious injuries

HONOLULU (Island News) – A pedestrian was hospitalized following a collision that involved a police officer, which occurred in the Waikiki area early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at about 6:58 a.m. when a 25-year-old Honolulu Police Department (HPD) Officer was stopped at the intersection of Liliuokalani Ave and Ala Wai Blvd.

The officer then activated the blue and white lights, made a left turn onto Ala Wai Blvd, and struck a 41-year-old man who was crossing the roadway in a marked crosswalk…
