First Alert Forecast: Wet trade wind conditions for Sunday into Monday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – An upper level low that produced heavy rain and thunderstorms over the state continues to move away to the northeast, allowing for drier conditions to gradually return. However, there could be some lingering showers, mainly for windward and mauka areas, Sunday through Monday.

Drier conditions are anticipated by Tuesday or Wednesday. Stronger trade winds will build, with occasionally gusty winds from the northeast at 20 to 25 miles per hour Wednesday through at least Saturday.
